Que bueno! KBNO takes top radio spot

KBNO 1280-AM ("Que Bueno"), the homegrown Spanish-language station, is now numero uno among adults 18-44. That's never happened before... "The (Latino) community is growing," said Zee Ferrufino, owner and CEO of Latino Communications, parent of KBNO. "We have economic power - $13 billion in Colorado - and now we have political power with Sen. (Ken) Salazar and his brother, John."... KBNO ranked 12th among all listeners 12 and over in the fall 2004 Arbitron accounting but was first among male listeners 12-49, adults 25-44 and adults 18-34. "We are very happy," said Ferrufino. "People from KOA, KYGO are asking, 'How did you guys do it?' You have to go back to basics."... KBNO far outdistanced its Spanish competitors. "We know what's happening in Denver. When it's snowing, we know it's snowing," Ferrufino said, taking a poke at his four syndicated, out-of-state rivals...
